Art Commission
The poster is of my board game design, titled 'Art Commission', and follows an 'art commission' theme. It is intended to give people more confidence in creating art.
The board is artist's palette shaped, with a blue and green colour scheme that is intended to be calming. Board directions, where present, are in yellow. My design also features a white cylindrical art supply container, art supplies, a 25 second timer, a die, meeples in the form of varyingly colourful pebbles, sheets of A6 sized paper, and two different sets of cards. The first set of cards, 'Client revision' cards, are green and serve as drawing prompts for players with amusingly wacky but enthusiastic and supportive text, such as "This looks great! I like moody atmospheres, so would it be possible to lower the overall vibe of the illustration? Thank you!". This is intended to give players encouragement and lighten the mood, whilst giving an experience of trying to understand confusing client requests, fitting the art commission theme. The second set of cards, 'Client approval' cards, are blue and cooperatively collected by players to win the game.
Rules:
Players start with a meeple on the start/end tile, a sheet of A6 paper, and access to the die, 25 second timer and art materials. Players take turns rolling the die to progress around the board.
The track has green tiles and blue tiles. If a player lands on a green tile, they take a 'Client revision' card, read it, and choose someone to follow it (they can choose themself). Whoever's following it has 25 seconds in which to do so on their piece of paper. If a player lands on a blue tile, they take a 'Client approval' card, and keep the card if players meet the criteria.
If someone reaches the start/end tile, they can no longer move but can still meet criteria for 'Client approval' cards, and receive 'Client revision' cards from other players.
The game ends either when players collectively possess enough 'Client approval' cards to win, or when the last player reaches the start/end tile. Required 'Client approval' cards to win equal the number of players times 2, plus 2.
